‘Puyek’ originated in Indonesia, where it’s bred and cultivated by local horticulturists specializing in Sansevieria hybrids. The breeder is Pak Febri of Indonesia.

     The parentage is Sansevieria pinguicula × ‘Gabriella’, combining the compact, rosette-forming traits of S. pinguicula (a walking sansevieria from East Africa) with the ornamental features of ‘Gabriella’ (another hybrid known for its patterned leaves).
