Agave guiengola is a succulent that forms attractive rosettes of whitish-green to bluish leaves. It is one of the most spectacular Agaves. Rosettes grow up to 4 feet (1.2 m) tall and up to 6 feet (1.8 m) in diameter. The common name "*Dolphin Agave*" refers to its broad, smooth, and surprisingly soft leaves with many dark brown marginal teeth and a sharp brown terminal spine. After 15 to 25 years, usually from spring to summer, the rosette produces an unbranched, up to 10 feet (3 m) tall spike with pale yellow flowers. Fruits are brown, elongated, and up to 1 inch (2.5 cm) long capsules.
